St. Vincent & the Grenadines (SVG) joined the World Health Organization Programme for International Drug Monitoring in June 2008 as an associate member, and became the 138th full member in March 2020 after fulfilling the criteria for full membership. Initially adverse drug reaction (ADR) reports were submitted to the Uppsala Monitoring Centre through the O.E.C.S. Pharmaceutical Procurement Service but this is now done through the Caribbean Public Health Agency: Caribbean Regulatory System via the VigiCarib network. The St. Vincent & the Grenadines Pharmacovigilance and Drug Information Centre was established in 2010 within the Government Pharmaceutical Services Department. The unit collects reports of suspected adverse reactions to medicines and vaccines occurring within the population from both the public and private sector.
