MMDC Pharmacy Department
The Pharmacy Department at the Modern Medical & Diagnostic Centre (MMDC) boasts the only fully operational Chemotherapy Pharmacy Unit in St. Vincent & the Grenadines. The unit is staffed by trained oncology pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.It is equipped with a state of the art yearly certified Bio-Safety Cabinet (BSC) stationed in a sterile clean room for total sterility to meet the highest standards of Aseptic Technique preparation of chemotherapy drug protocols.  This unit handles over fifteen (15) different Cytotoxic drugs that are combined to formulate multi-drug regimens to treat various types of cancers e.g. Adenocarcinomas, Lymphomas, Breast, Colon, Ovarian/Cervical/Endometrial, Prostate & Haematology/Blood.
The Pharmacy department at MMDC is also responsible for dispensing of medication and counselling patients from the Georgetown District Clinic, Accident and Emergency department and the various outpatient clinics available at the facility.  We also fill inpatient treatment cards and supply stock to the wards at Georgetown Smart Hospital, the Operating Theatre and the various other departments that comprise the Georgetown Medical Complex.
