The department performs activities geared to ensuring availability of dependable and adequate pharmaceuticals and medical supplies at all health institutions and departments of the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment.

The mission of Central Medical Stores is to procure, manage, and distribute all pharmaceuticals and medical supplies for use in government health institutions using scientific forecasting and inventory control methods; coupled with effective cost-containment measures to maximize value and contribute to nation building.
