The services offered at the MCMH are as follows:
  • Accident and Emergency - 24 hour service
  • Priority is always given to critically ill or red tag patients. These are normally seen within five (5) minutes of arrival at the unit.
  • Urgent or “yellow tag” patients are seen within fifteen (15) minutes of arrival, at the unit, by nursing personnel.
  • Non-urgent or “green tag” patients will be seen within two (2) to three (3) hours of their arrival. This may vary dependent on the number of priority or urgent patients presenting in the unit.
  • Special OutPatient Clinics - Patients are seen by appointment and must be referred by the District Medical Officers or their own physicians. Appointments can be made at (784) 456-1185 Ext 154.

Inpatient and Outpatient Services are provided for the following:

General Medicine Dermatology General Surgery
Ophthalmology    
Ear Nose and Throat Orthopaedics Psychiatry Urology
Pediatrics Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Other services such as laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, physiotherapy, nutrition, housekeeping and laundry provide the necessary support.

Accounts Department

Inpatients and outpatients are required to pay fees for services. Hospital bills must be settled within twenty- eight (28) days of discharge to prevent the surcharge of fifteen percent (15%).

Payment of Hospital Fees

Cash as well as cheques are acceptable with cheques being made payable to the Accountant General.

Health Insurance - one should pay the hospital bill before submitting an insurance claim to the company for reimbursement.  Please bring insurance forms upon admission if you require the insurance to pay the bill.  Bills will be issued on discharge or as soon as possible after discharge.
