The National Family Planning Programme within the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, is conducting its Annual Community Nursing Staff Family Planning Workshop at the Methodist Church Hall, which commenced on Monday 27th through to Thursday 30th March from 8:30 a.m.


The workshop will address matters related to Sexual Reproductive Health in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and will benefit all district nurses, including the Health Nursing Supervisors, Family Nurse Practitioners, Staff Nurses, Nursing Assistants and Community Health Aides.

Areas to be addressed in the workshop include contraceptive methods, their effects and side effects; outlining contraceptive choices; examining advantages and disadvantages of methods for certain conditions; documentation methodologies to be utilised at the clinical level; and practical demonstration of intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUCDs); condoms; diaphragms and injectables.
