The St. Matthias Charities Inc. has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the development of the local health services with a recent presentation to the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment.

A team from the World Pediatric Project (WPP) which conducted a one-week Neurosurgery Medical Mission to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines from the 2nd to  8th of June, 2018, has hailed the mission a tremendous success.

Epidemiologist within the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Tamara Bobb, has revealed that Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of mortality and morbidity in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and cigarette smoking is a major contributing factor in this regard.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment is pleased to announce that the Starkey Hearing Foundation will be embarking on a  medical mission to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), involuntary (or passive) smoking is the exposure to second-hand smoke (SHS) which is a mixture of exhaled mainstream smoke and side stream smoke released from a smoldering cigarette or other smoking device (cigar, pipe, bidi, etc.) and diluted with ambient air.
