Efforts continue to sensitize and educate Vincentians on patients’ access to medicinal cannabis and substance abuse in the context of patient access and ways to avoid the spread of COVID- 19.

This comes as the Medicinal Cannabis Authority (MCA) embarked on a public awareness initiative on Friday, July 31st, 2020.

Last Friday’s event took place at the Old Treasury Park, where the various forms of substance abuse and the proper and many uses of medicinal cannabis when prescribed by an authorized medical doctor were emphasized. Much effort was also made to highlight the cultivation of cannabis and the ways in which it can be processed.

The event was in collaboration with the Health Promotions Unit within the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, where persons were advised on the COVID-19 pandemic and the best practices they can undertake to help prevent its spread.
