The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Medicinal Cannabis Authority (MCA) held a training session for Medical Doctors and Pharmacists on Wednesday 27th, November, 2019, at the National Insurance Service's conference room .
Welcome remarks was done by Dr.Jean-Saville Cummings, MCA Biotechnologist, while Dr. Jerrol Thompson, MCA Chief Executive Officer delivered the opening remarks.
Various presentations were made and were followed by questions and answers as part of the training for the healthcare professionals.
The presentations included:
- Dr. Jason Young, MCA Medical Officer, "The Legal requirements, the process of registering patients, dispensaries & dispensing and the tracking system"
- Dr. Hance Clarke, Anaesthesiologist/Pain Management Specialist, "Cannabis and its use in history, the endocannabinoid system and prescribing cannabis"
- Mrs. Fiona Dennie-Pierre, MCA Drug Inspector/INCB Liaison, "Tips on routes of administration and the anti-drug campaign"
During the closing ceremony, certificates were distributed to trainees.
