General Electric BRIVO CT 385

A brand new CT Scanner was received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment and deposited at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital on Thursday August 28th 2014.

It is a General Electric BRIVO CT 385, an upgraded version of the original CT scanner which was damaged during the Christmas Eve Floods of 2013. It bears a cost of EC$ 767,252.56, an amount shared by The Bank of SVG and the National Insurances Services. Additional retrofitting works were undertaken at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, specifically on the upper level, at the Radiology Unit, at a cost in excess of EC$ 60,000.00, provided by the Government of SVG.

Installation of the new CT scanner is being done by Engineers from General Electric and Bio Medical International, suppliers of the machine, and is expected to be completed within one week. It will be operational immediately upon completion of full testing and calibration.
