Port Elizabeth Hospital

Phase Two of Rehabilitation Work on Health Care facilities on the Grenadines Island of Bequia, will continue with construction work on the Port Elizabeth Hospital in the next two weeks.

A release from the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and the Environment said that the project is made possible through collaboration with the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF). The Ministry added that this phase will cost 1.2 million EC dollars.

The release said the project, which is part of Government’s efforts to modernize the health sector in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, is expected to be completed in the next eight weeks.

Phase One of the project was completed earlier this year, which coincided with the opening of the new Port Elizabeth Clinic in Bequia.

The release further noted that renovation work will begin on the Clare Valley Clinic within the next four to six weeks, and tenders can return bids within the next two weeks.

The Ministry said due to the inconveniences that may be caused as a result of the renovation works in Bequia, the newly retrofitted temporary health clinic will provide services offered by the hospital. As for the Clare Valley renovation program, a temporary facility is being retrofitted about 200 yards from the clinic to facilitate the services provided in that area.
