A two-day workshop focusing on HIV prevention, care, treatment, and support was held on the 23rd and 24th of July 2013, as part of a pilot project to implement the recently adopted HIV workplace policy.
The forum was hosted by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Reconciliation, Public Service, Information, Labor and Ecclesiastical Affairs. Areas that were covered include HIV myths and misconceptions, strategic approach to behavior change ‘From knowledge to Action’, mental health & HIV, psychological impact of HIV on people living with HIV, care & treatment for people living with HIV, HIV counseling and testing, and stigma and discrimination.
The participants were drawn from eleven of the enterprises that have signed on to implement the recently adopted HIV workplace policy. The forum was held at the Foreign Affairs Conference Room.
