The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment hosted workshop here with the aim of improving and strengthening the delivery of laboratory services. The Ministry said that the workshop was also designed to craft a National Laboratory Strategic Plan for medical laboratories.
The workshop ran from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th of July 2013, at the Haddon Hotel Conference Room, beginning at 8:30 a.m. daily. The sessions were attended by staff from the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, the laboratory staff of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, as well as staff from private laboratories and other relevant stakeholders within the Civil Service.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Michael Seepersaud and Dr. Evadnie Williams, consultants from the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) and the Centre for Disease Control (CDC).
